an Opening to remember...

This post is late in coming, but I just wanted to thank all my fantastic friends, family, clients and vendors that made an appearance at my open house January 30! A good time was had by all 100+ folks that stopped in through out the evening. It was such a lovely kickoff celebration for the new location and to celebrate the launch of the new website by Mindbox Studios. All sorts of fantastic vendors helped make it happen, such as linens from All Occasions (secured by the amazing Kathy Piech-Lukas of Your Dream Day), flowers by Katie Elfers of Inspired Floral Design, help from Jen Pritchard of Your Wedding by Jen, photography by the talented Isabele Sam, and catering by Proverbs Coffee Cafe (people are still talking about those cupcakes!) Even my wonderfully creative friend April Adams of Moonstone Salon volunteered to flatten and style my hair for the occasion! I appreciate all the help tremedously - it is definitely through the strong community around me that my business has become successful! We steamed up the windows! Too much hot air in a small space... The display window from the inside... We love snail mail! Those amazing cupcakes from Proverbs! The launch of the new website was ready to view at several computers.Browsing of a portfolio.

Goodies

Life is good at the inkery - I have finally settled in after the big move, and foot traffic is making it's way in the door. There are a number of exciting projects I am working on, including a "fresh" destination wedding at a Santa Barbara orchard, a fantastic bold/contemporary fuscia, pale pink and khaki wedding in Covington, and a gorgeous vintage pale pink & lace invitation suite. Photo updates to come!

The most exciting recent happening at the inkery was our upgrade to Adobe Creative Suite 4 (CS4). For all you non-designers out there, its the group of amazing software programs that helps us do what we do. Since I was still working in CS2, this will bring about all sorts of possibilities! While downloading last night, I found this folder quite attractive while uploading the new fonts - how often do you come across a random folder of "goodies?"
